Fall Favorites: Local Bites

Fall is for foodies (what season isn’t?)! We’ve been enjoying local eats and all the fresh produce that comes with the end of summer. We’ve picked a few places to try, and revisited some favorites. If you’re due for some new food, give these local eats a go.

Monkey Wrench (Salt Lake City)

This vegan ice cream shop has the best flavors and textures if you suffer from stomach problems and allergies like me.

Redmond Farms (Orem)

Redmond Farms is a natural/ organic grocery but they have a yummy restaurant inside. Jair and I have been before, but I met up with friends for breakfast recently. We all ordered their GF oat cakes, and swapped the eggs for potatoes.

Strap Tank (Springville)
Local brewery with good food, and live music. We came on a Friday night and the restaurant was lively. Their nachos are a great appetizer, Jair surprisingly opted for Enchiladas and I went with a giant salad. We both tried Strap tanks original root beers which were great.

A few more favorites

Sol Agave (American Fork)

This is a must try if you visit Utah! Sol Agave feels like gourmet Mexican food without steep, gourmet prices.

I always plate the Chicken Fajitas, but Jair has tried something different every time and loved everything. The restaurant can be pretty lively and packed but the food is always worth it.

Aubergine Kitchen (Orem)

Aubergine has been one of our long time favorites. It’s fast casual and super healthy. We always go for the Rio Bowl, the Very Berry Salad, and a protein or pina co green smoothie.

Jurassic Tacos (Provo)

After we bought Jairs truck we were starving and decided to hit up The Hut to try Jurassic Tacos. The Hut feels like a trendy, micro cafeteria for college students. There’s a few different places to try but we went for the popular food truck tacos we always see around town. They were yummy but were fresh out of a few of the things we wanted to try. Next time!

Ginger’s Garden Cafe: (Springville)

So yummy and refreshing! The restaurant  is combined with a holistic medicine hub that’s housed in the building. I wandered around while we waited for food. The building has natural medicines and herbs, yoga classes, and a crystal shop. They also have a garden you can eat in out back. It’s beautiful and quiet, but the weather was too stormy for us on the day we visited.
